Hannah is currently experimenting with colour interactions of naturally dyed silk in double weave structures. This allows her to combine colours in the warp and weft to create unusual, complex colour plays in the final weave.
On Friday 24 June, Hannah will be in the gallery for a series of informal sessions demonstrating the winding of warp chains for her upcoming pieces. She will be bringing all the silk she has naturally dyed over the past 12 months and will happily chat about her process of dyeing and weaving.

Artist Demonstration & Talk - Lynn Pavey, Textile Artist
Sydney based textile artist Lynn Pavey joins us in the gallery for an informal talk about her creative process.
Lynn developed a passion for textiles and fibre crafts at an early age following the expertise of her matriarchy. Later, careers in fashion, clothing technology and horticulture allowed her to explore colour, texture, form and functionality. As an emerging Sydney textile artist her creative works evolve utilising a coiled crochet technique with natural recycled and remnant materials. Lynn is a strong advocate of using what is discarded of life and transforming them into revitalised textiles of dimensional work. Colour combinations and shape development within her medium continue to inspire expanding possibilities.
Don't miss Lynn Pavey for this free, informal talk and demonstration at Saywell Gallery, Marrickville. Spots are limited, so please book now.
